JEVTANA is a type of chemotherapy called a taxane. JEVTANA was developed specifically to treat advanced prostate cancer (mCRPC) that has worsened after treatment with other medicines, including docetaxel. JEVTANA is given with a steroid medicine, called prednisone.

JEVTANA is given as an intravenous infusion by a trained professional. JEVTANA is prescribed in combination with an oral medicine called prednisone. Your healthcare provider will tell you how and when to take your prednisone. Before each infusion of JEVTANA, you may receive other medicines to prevent or treat side effects.

JEVTANA has been studied across 3 clinical studies and in more than 2200 men with advanced prostate cancer (mCRPC) who:

  • Had prostate cancer that spread to other parts of the body
  • Were no longer responding to medical or surgical treatment to lower testosterone
  • Had previously been treated with a chemotherapy called docetaxel

JEVTANA may affect not just cancerous cells, but also some of the healthy cells. This may cause side effects.

Serious side effects of JEVTANA include low white blood cells, severe allergic reactions, severe stomach and intestine problems, kidney failure, lung or breathing problems, inflammation of the bladder, and blood in the urine.

The most common side effects of JEVTANA include:

  • low red blood cell count (anemia)
  • low blood platelet count
  • diarrhea
  • nausea
  • tiredness
  • weakness
  • vomiting
  • constipation
  • decreased appetite
  • back pain
  • stomach (abdominal) pain

JEVTANA may also cause fertility problems in males. Talk to your healthcare provider if you have concerns about fertility.
